About DJ Molex.
Student DJ: (2005 - 2009)
Marcel, professionally known as DJ Molex, was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
During his high school years, he discovered his passion for music while being a member of the student radio and hosting a lunchtime radio show twice a week. He also performed at school sporting events and joined the theater department, which laid the foundation for his long and successful career as a DJ and theatrical technician that continues to this day.
Between 2005 and 2009, Marcel won multiple awards for his dedication to the performing arts.
Professional career: (2012 - Now)
After college, Marcel returned to performing locally in Moncton, New Brunswick. In the early 2010s, he began streaming sets online and eventually rebranded himself as DJ Molex in January 2013 and released his debut collaboration, “Slave Factory”.
Over the past decade, Molex has showcased his versatility and reliability by performing at various events, including weddings, proms, teen dances, corporate events, community events, and even world-class sporting events like the IIHF World Juniors® and STIHL’s Timbersports® Series.
Molex has held impressive residencies, regular rotations, and special guest spots at festivals, nightclubs, pubs, and lounges. He has also occasionally performed as a backup MC and DJ for multiple award winning east coast rappers on tours and for special performances.
Molex has made several notable appearances, including the 75th Shediac Lobster Festival in 2024, Cavy’s “Energy Thief” tour in 2023, Pineo & Loeb’s “WICKED” and “Good Vibe Feeling” tours in 2022, the Moncton River of Pride Festival in 2014, 2019, and 2026, TPB Presents: Randy & Mr. Lahey LIVE in 2017, the Atlantic Fashion Expo in 2016, and the MNB Awards in 2014 with urban recording of the year award nominee Matthew David.
DJ Molex’s skills and experience have earned him the trust of many industry professionals, and his passion for performing stems from a lifetime spent in the spotlight.
